getting started

The Spectrum Team is currently meeting folks and gathering stories to shape the film. If you would like to be part of this project please contact us.

shooting schedule

We will be shooting until we feel we have enough voices. This allows us to explore the spectrum and interview a variety of diverse subjects.

This documentary film series is about engaging in and documenting productive conversations around Gender. We would like to invite anyone with an open heart/mind and an interest in discussing Gender and what that means to them.

Learning about gender as a spectrum is an ongoing process. Exploring gender in safer spaces with productive/positive conversations is critical. We want people to feel personally and creatively supported so your feedback is very important to us. Please email us with your insights/questions/concerns at

We acknowledge that Spectrum Documentary takes place on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. While we work to deconstruct stereotypes around Gender, we recognize the importance of doing so in solidarity with Indigenous peoples. The journey we are on is one of discovery, unlearning, and understanding.

A glimpse into the lives and beauty of those who choose to defy society's restrictive gender definitions.

mission & vision

No identity is too small and no voice is too quiet to be heard. Our mission is to share the beauty of gender expressions outside of the binary.
